The recent tax bill that was just signed into law, in the USA, has a change as to how donations for tax-exempt organizations will be handled. Each individual will now be allowed a standard deduction of $12,000. This standard deduction “will be the amount that taxpayers can subtract from their taxable income without listing, or itemizing, deductions on their tax returns.” (see news report link, below)
The expectation then is that it means perhaps some “people who are close to that cutoff may stop giving altogether, as they may no longer see tax savings from their giving”.
We will, therefore, take a different path. We will seek Corporate Sponors who can/will donate funds to help the Bnei Anousim for our projects and programs. And the donations will be identified as a Business (Marketing) expense by those Corporations on their tax reports to the government.
